October 02, (THEWILL) -Air Vice Marshal Sikiru Smith (rtd.) has been released by his abductors.
The former military chief was abducted on Monday in the Ajah area of Lagos state..
THEWILL reports that he was released in the early hours of Saturday.
Spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the development.
“I can confirm that he has been released,” he said.
The police declined to provide any detail of No detail on how his freedom was secured or if any ransom was paid.
AVM Smith was abducted in the Ajah area of Lagos on Monday by some masked armed men while he was supervising work on a site.
He was reportedly whisked away in a waiting speedboat.
