May 31, (THEWILL) – Atletico Madrid and Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, has issued a warning to Nigerians about online scams that are exploiting her identity.
Taking to Twitter, Ajibade urged people to remain vigilant and not to fall prey to scammers who are using her name to deceive unsuspecting individuals. She specifically denied any association with an individual named Ibrahim Hassan, who had been posing as her agent on Facebook.
“I do not know and I am not affiliated with any Ibrahim Hassan who is on Facebook claiming to be my agent/manager,” Ajibade stated unequivocally. The talented footballer, who recently played a key role in Atletico’s victory in the Spanish women’s Cup against city rivals Real Madrid, is now preparing to represent Nigeria at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The tournament, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, is set to hold from Thursday, July 20 to Sunday, August 20, 2023.
The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, have been placed in Group B for the competition, alongside formidable opponents such as Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland.
