SAN FRANCISCO, March 28, (THEWILL) – The cash reward promised by the Nigerian Army for anyone who comes up with useful information that can lead to the rescue of an abducted Army officer has been raised from N500,000 to N1 million.
Disclosing this in a statement issued on Monday, spokesman of the Army 1 Division, Kaduna, Col. Abdul Usman explained that the cash reward was increased to mobilise more support from the public for the rescue of the abducted officer.
Earlier in a statement issued on Sunday to confirm the abduction of Col. Samaila Inusa in Kaduna, the Army noted that Inusa was a serving officer at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji, Kaduna State.
Announcing that Inusa’s abduction happened at Kamazo in Chikkun Local Government Area near NNPC junction, Kaduna State, the Force disclosed that his abductors dropped his wife “and left with him in his car and headed toward Abuja.”
However in a statement issued on Monday, Usman urged the public to contact the Army or security agencies with useful information that could lead to the release of the officer, assuring that adequate protection would be given to anyone with relevant information and that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
