October 06, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 23 Chairmanship and 276 Councillorship in the October 5 Local Government election in Benue State.
The Chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), Barr Richard Tombuwua, made the disclosure while declaring results on Sunday in Makurdi.
He said that the Commission had a hitch-free exercise in the course of duty, saying APC, LP, NNPP, PDP and ZLP which participated in the exercise scored various votes.
Barr Tombuwua explained that a total of 32,452 votes were cast while 135 were rejected and commended security agencies, party members and the media for various roles they played leading to the success of the exercise.
Reacting to the results, the state chairman of Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Mr Ibrahim Idoko, said BSIEC fully worked hard to deliver on it mandate which must be commended.
Idoko, who is also the State Chairman of Labour Party (LP), noted that he will however, meet with the party leadership in the state to come out with a position and congratulated APC candidates that won at the polls.
