BEVERLY HILLS, March 28, (THEWILL) – The Anglican Diocese of Egba in Ogun State on Sunday warned corrupt public officials against donating part of their loot to the church; else a report would be made against them to security agencies.

The Diocesan Bishop of Egba, Rt. Rev’d Emmanuel Adekunle handed this warning in his sermon at the Ogun State Police Command 2016 Thanksgiving Service held at the St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake in Abeokuta.

The outspoken bishop observed that treasury looters have developed the penchant to donate to churches from their ill gotten wealth; lamenting that, even when churches are aware, they praise-sing the looters.

“‎Don’t steal where you are working and bring to church as donation or tithe, we shall not accept such gestures, whether as donations or tithes.

“If we discovered such, we shall expose the donor. If you do this, you will be ridiculed,” he said.

The Lordship was however quick to add that those with untainted wealth should not be discouraged from contributing to the church.

As In a similar development, the General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Pastor Lazarus Muoka has forbidden armed robbers, prostitutes, cultists, women putting on trousers and kidnappers from giving offerings and paying tithes in the church, insisting that God is not interested in ill-gotten wealth.

The cleric, who was preaching to hundreds of thousands of worshipers that converged at the headquarters of the church in Ijesha, Lagos state for the last lap of the two-day crusade, maintained that God is not interested in ill-gotten wealth and riches but wants everybody to worship him in truth and in spirit.

According to him, “If you are here and you are an armed robber, a kidnapper, cultist, adulterer, among others and you don’t want to repent, please we urge you not to give offering, tithe or pledge because we are here to lead people to Christ and not money.

“The God who called us is always with us and we know that God will supply all our needs including money to finance the church. We urge you to repent from all evil and God will forgive you and give you good business that conforms with the word of God. We may not know you but God knows you and will judge you if you go against his will.”

Muoka, who preached on the topic, God has power to do all things, said the Church would not fail to fore-warn evildoers against giving ill-gotten wealth to God who is the owner of all things.
