An expert in branding and English FA licensed intermediary, Andrew Ogbomoide Uyi, is set to add another feather to his cap. He is on the verge of being honoured with a doctorate degree by US-based Cornerstone Christian University. The famous UK-born Nigerian is believed to be behind some major endorsement deals for leading Nigerian sports stars and entertainers.
While celebrating the virtues of the awardee, the US-based university described Uyi as a sports and events management graduate from the London Metropolitan University, London, who holds a postgraduate degree in marketing from the University of the Arts London.
A FIFA licensed football agent, Uyi is a brand strategist and athlete brand educator. That he will bag a doctorate does not come as a surprise to those who have been following the international sports scene and the branding world, where he has been making positive impacts for over a decade.
Uyi has played active roles in the actualisation of endorsement and sponsorship deals for the likes of Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa; former Nigerian international footballer Victor Moses, and Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi. Others are former Eagles striker Odion Ighalo and most recently Golden Eaglets player Abba Bichi, son of the Director General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi.
Besides being a leader in branding, as evident in the many brands he has helped to build and his continuous mentorship and coaching programmes, Uyi has also earned massive momentum as an expert in athlete branding and is one who is concerned with the growth and success of athletes so that they can maximize their career through their power of personal branding.
