November 06, (THEWILL) – Yet-to-be identified gunmen carted away ballot boxes and other election materials from Immaculate Heart, Ekwulobia in the Aguata local government area of Anambra State.
The gunmen’s actions have brought proceedings in the polling unit to a stop.
This was disclosed in a Sahara Reporters report and corroborated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) via Twitter.
The PDP tweet reads, “In Aguata LGA, Immaculate Heart Ekwulobia. Unidentified armed men have invaded the polling unit, attacked party agents, electoral officers and made away with the ballot boxes and other electoral materials. Voting has been cancelled.”
There HAVE also been reports of money exchanging hands for votes in an election that has been bed lied by incidences of malfunctioning Bimodal Voters Accreditation Systems.
