Alia Grieves Over Benue Monarch’s Death

August 20, (THEWILL) – A first-class Chief, the Tor Jechira, HRH, Clement Kparevfa Uganden, is to be buried on Wednesday, August 21, at the traditional cemetery in Vandeikya, the political headquarters of Jechira Federal constituency.

This is just as Governor Hyacinth Alia, who is grieved over the death, described Uganden’s death as a great loss not just to the state, but to humanity in general.

Governor Alia, after inspecting the ongoing work at the cemetery at Vandeikya, later signed the memorial guest book offering condolences to the family and expressed words of comfort and fond memories of the deceased ahead of the burial on August 21, 2024.

He described the death of Late Chief Clement Uganden, as a monumental loss to humanity, extolling the deceased virtues of peace, selflessness, and philanthropy, adding that his commitment to upgrading the traditional institution in Jechira cannot be forgotten.

The Governor thanked the Central Planning Committee for their unwavering dedication, to ensure that the late monarch is given a befitting burial.

The Caretaker Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government and Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Hon. Dennis Guda, said every necessary arrangement was being made to ensure a hitch-free burial ceremony.

THEWILL recalls that Chief Clement Uganden, who ascended the throne as the Tor Jechira about eight years ago, died in a London hospital during a medical checkup.
