July 15, (THEWILL) – Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Engr. Comfort Akwonya Adadu as the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
Adadu, who hails from Ado Local Government Area of the state, before her appointment, was a Senior Lecturer at the Benue State University, Makurdi.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, said Governor Alia equally approved the appointments of council members of Benue State-owned tertiary institutions.
The appointees, according to the statement, include: Sir Paul Chukwuma, Chairman/Pro-chancellor, Benue State University; Dr. Demian Anyam, Chairman, Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo; Prof. Uketor Gabriel Moti, Chairman, College of Education, Katsina-ala, and Prof. Member George-Genyi, College of Education, Oju.
Others are: Prof. Okpe O. Okpe, Chairman, Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi; Dr. Victoria Pila, Chairman, Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev, and Dr. Bem Vangerwua, Chairman, College of Health Technology, Agasha.
“Governor Alia believes the appointed individuals who are carefully selected based on their records of service and wealth of experience will be able to deliver and make the tertiary institutions top-notch in the country once more,” Kula said
He quoted Governor Alia as charging the appointees to permanently put the interest of the state first in all their official engagements.
Kula said the Governor also congratulated the twenty-eight other members of the councils for making the list and called on them to work in unison in order to attract maximum results.
