The warning comes as the company disclosed plans to deploy 20,000 free meters to Band A customers in its franchise areas.
Giving details on this, Olubukola Ilevbare, the company’s head of Corporate Communications, said the decision followed a meeting at the company’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.
She described the decision as good news, as the 20,000 meters will be deployed at no cost to the beneficiaries.
She added that the idea behind it is to close the metering gap and also ensure proper energy accounting in its franchise areas.
“We bring you good news. PHED has set aside 20,000 prepaid meters for its unmetered customers on its Band A Feeders.
“This is aimed at closing the metering gap and ensuring proper energy accounting.
“These meters are FREE and are to be installed at no cost to the customer”, she said.
