Akeredolu Surges, Projected To Win Ondo Governorship Poll In Landslide

SAN FRANCISCO, October 10, (THEWILL) – With victories from 9 of the 12 local governments areas formally declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Ondo State Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is projected to be reelected for a final term of four years, THEWILL can report.

There are 18 local government areas in the state and with results from 2895 polling units of the 3009 total polling units in the state uploaded on INEC result portal, representing 96.2 percent of the total result, Akeredolu appears unstoppable going by the votes.

His main challengers in the vote are: Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, the candidate of the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the deputy governor of the state, Mr. Agboola Ajayi of the ZLP.

The results officially declared by INEC so far shows Akeredolu up by at least 37, 000 votes.

Akoko North West, APC – 15,809; PDP – 10,320; ZLP – 3,447.

Ondo East Local Government Area, APC – 6485; PDP – 4049; ZLP – 3221.

Owo Local Government Area, APC – 35,957; PDP – 5311, ZLP – 408.

Akure North Local Government Area, APC – 9546; PDP – 12263 – ZLP, 1046.
