18 Nurses Contract Coronavirus In Kano

SAN FRANCISCO, May 06, (THEWILL) – At least 18 nurses have contracted the coronavirus in Kano, Nigeria’s second most populous state.

THEWILL recalls that 34 doctors had previously tested positive for the pandemic in the Northwestern state.

The state’s nursing association chairman, Ibrahim Muhammad, said 18 samples returned positive from the 86 taken for tests.

Kano, which has recorded multiple deaths from unknown causes recently, has over 300 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. The government has commissioned a team to perform verbal autopsies to ascertain the cause of the deaths.
