February 08, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) is set to host the first-ever Nigeria Scrabble Festival in Abuja next month with 12 clubs challenging for honours.
The festival, which will run from March 20 to March 22, will feature three events: the National Scrabble Festival, NSF’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), and the grand finale of the 2022 NSF Inter Club Championship. Participants are expected to arrive in Abuja, on March 19, with the Festival starting the following day.
After the AGM on March 23, the NSF Inter Club Championship will commence the next day and conclude two days later. The week-long festival will end with the Awards and Gala Night, during which the NSF will reward and recognise outstanding players, coaches, administrators, and sponsors.
The National Scrabble Festival is a 28-round game event, with the winner being crowned the Champion of Nigeria and receiving a substantial cash prize. The grand finale of the NSF Inter Club Championship will feature 12 clubs from across the country.
These clubs include Yola Scrabble Club, Adamawa (North East), South Side Scrabble Club of Kaduna (North West), Apex SC and Central Scrabble Club of Abuja (North Central), Enugu Scrabble Club and Safari Scrabble Club of Owerri (South East), Ibadan SC, Ikorodu Scrabble Club, and Pyramid Scrabble Club A of Lagos (South West), and Benin Scrabble Club, Warri Scrabble Club, and Yenagoa Scrabble Club (South-South). The draw for the grand finale will take place at a later date in Abuja.
