Alia Promises To Consolidate On Past Achievements As 7,000 Decampees Join APC

June 21, (THEWILL) – Governor Hyacinth Alia has promised to consolidate the achievements his administration has achieved in the past one year, even as over 7,000 Decampees from other political parties joined the ranks of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

During a thank you tour on Thursday, Governor Alia, who was addressing the people of Buruku federal constituency at the Community Secondary School Playground, Buruku local government area, noted that against all odds, he has no excuse to fail the people of the state.

He told cooperatives that agriculture remains the mainstay of the nation’s economy and Benue State in particular, urging people of the state to form cooperatives to enjoy the benefits his administration has put in place to promote farming.

“Through cooperation, you can get free farming inputs and other assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture. Fertiliser, tractors and sprayers are available to access”.

The governor announced the resuscitation of the moribund Agricultural Training Centre, Mbatie in Buruku local Government, while the construction of Ityogbenda Jinge – Uga and Tyowanye – Uga – Tse Addingi – Mkovour Roads, all in Buruku, would be awarded to ease movement of people and goods.

Playing host to the people of Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency, at the Gboko township stadium, Governor Alia said all General Hospitals in the state were comatose and his Government lifted them through renovation and equipping it with drugs.

He disclosed that salaries and pension payments in the state will take effect from this month on the 22nd to the 25th in order to give beneficiaries a sense of belonging.

According to him, the ongoing construction of underpass bridges in Makurdi and Gboko is at an advanced stage, saying the construction of Ikyese Street from Foma Clinic Ring Road Gboko will be linked to the main road, assuring that more contracts would be awarded over time.

The Acting State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Benue state, Mr Benjamin Omakolo, while receiving the Decampees at separate venues, assured them of equal opportunity and charged them to be loyal and supportive to the Alia administration to deliver on his mandate.

He pointed out that the APC-led administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia in Benue State, would sustain the people-oriented policies where the poor masses are target beneficiaries rather than the high class and call for support.

One of the Decampees, Mrs Tofi noted that the Alia administration has done well in governance through good road construction, salary and pension payment in the past one year in office.

She said Governor Alia will successfully go for a second term in 2027 due to his performance, assuring that the Buruku people will support the administration for better things to come.
