June 18, (THEWILL) – Paris Saint-Germain are ready to sign Vitinha, a midfielder from Porto, ahead of many Premier League clubs.

After a great season in the Primeira Liga, the 22-year-old has become one of the most sought-after midfielders on the market. Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham United, Leeds United, Everton, and Newcastle United, were all monitoring his position.

However, PSG have activated the €40 million release clause in the Portugal international’s contract, and he will join the Parc des Princes on a five-year agreement, making him the club’s first signing since Luis Campos’ appointment as sporting advisor.

Vitinha spent the 2020/2021 season on loan with Wolves, although he failed to make an impact there, making only 22 appearances in all competitions and scoring just once.

But, back at Porto, he was a key figure in Sergio Conceicao’s side’s league title triumph, and he is now ready to continue his growth at PSG. In Paris, he will be joined by fellow Portugal internationals Nuno Mendes and Danilo Pereira. Vitinha and his teammate, Fabio Vieira, are ready to leave the Estadio do Dragao, with the latter joining Arsenal for a €40 million deal.
