October 13, (THEWILL) – A Niger Delta militant group, Supreme Egbesu Freedom Fighters (SEFF), has drawn the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the rising tension along the creeks and waterways of the Niger Delta region over an alleged secret deal involving the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr Mele Kyari and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Mr Heineken Lokpobri, to award a new pipeline surveillance contract to former militant leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo.

According to the group, the award of the contract to Tompolo alone will undermine the stakeholders in all oil-producing communities in the creek of the Niger Delta region and sideline some of the major ex-militant leaders and critical stakeholders from the region who played a major role in the last presidential election that brought President Tinubu to power.

The Supreme Egbesu Freedom Fighters (SEFF), in a statement issued to newsmen via electronic mail after an emergency meeting attended by the various unit commanders and presided over by self-styled General Agadagba 1, also known as River Don, alleged that the proposed award of the contract to Tompolo will throw the Niger Delta region into turmoil and return it to the old days of insecurity and violence.

The SEFF also alleged that Tompolo and his monarch opposed the candidature of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC in support of the opposition presidential candidate, former vice president Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, adding that Tompolo lost his polling unit, wards and the entire Warri South West Local Government Area to favour the PDP presidential candidate.

“It is the same man that the GMD, NNPC, Mele Kyari and Sen. Heineken Lokpobri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, have decided to award the entire pipeline surveillance contract. We the Supreme Egbesu Freedom Fighters will not fold our hands to watch and allow such and have decided to join hands with other militant groups and stakeholders from the oil-producing communities in the Niger Delta region to declare war against the GMD NNPC Mele Kyari and Sen. Heineken Lokpobri.

“We have also compiled the list of those cabals in the corridors of Aso Villa, who have already collected billions of dollars in order to re-award the pipeline surveillance contract to the same old contractors to the detriment of other ethnic nationalities and stakeholders from the region.

“We want to make it clear to the Federal Government and Nigerians that, if this contract is awarded through the back door without conveying a meeting of foremost former militant leaders including Tompolo, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, King Ateke Tom, Gen. Ebikabowei Victor-Ben also known as Boaloaf, High Chief Bibopre Ajube, also known as Shoot Asight, and other notable ex-militant leaders and critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, whatever that will befall the oil pipelines and the oil facilities in the region should be blamed on Kyari and Lokpobiri.”

The group also pointed out that the Stakeholders from the region have resolved not to sit and watch one man play god to the entire multi-ethnic nationalities in the Niger Delta region, saying, “This time around, we will do everything humanly possible to disappoint the GMD, NNPC, Mele Kyari and Minister Heineken Lokpobri, including those corrupt villa cabals who are cooking these deals and this time the entire Niger Delta will boil again and it will be disastrous and deadly.”
