July 11, (THEWILL) – Andreas Pereira has officially signed with Fulham for an unknown sum and will join them from Manchester United.
The former Brazil international has signed a contract with the Cottagers through 2026, with an additional year as an option. Earlier this month, Pereira reportedly had his medical at Craven Cottage, after agreeing on a price with United.
Speaking with the team’s website after signing, he said: “I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to start the season with Fulham. I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here.”
United’s statement added: “Everyone at United would like to thank Andreas for his years of service and wish him all the best for the rest of his career.”
Pereira spent the last season on loan at Flamengo. They intended to sign him permanently, but he has chosen to help Fulham as they attempt to make a successful debut in the English Premier League. The Cottagers 12-year run in England’s top flight ended in 2014 and they have found it difficult to stay up but their most recent season has given supporters hope of a lengthier stay in the Premier League.
