SAN FRANCISCO, September 24, (THEWILL) – Former Secretary to the Federal Government and chieftain of the pan Yoruba group, Afenifere, Chief Olu Falae has been released by his abductors.
Falae was released Thursday though it was not clear at press time whether a ransom was paid for his freedom. Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, who escorted Chief Falae to his Akure residence, told reporters that no ransom was paid for his freedom.
Arase led several police units that facilitated the politician’s release on Thursday afternoon.
The politician was kidnapped by gunmen from his farm in Ilado Village, Akure, Ondo State, on Monday. They demanded N90 million for his freedom.
