April 09, (THEWILL) – Crystal Palace pulled off a stunning comeback at Elland Road, beating Leeds 5-1 to give their fight for English Premier League survival a much-needed boost with a Michael Olise masterclass.
After being a goal down early on due to Patrick Bamford’s header, the Eagles buckled give up and levelled the score just before half-time through Marc Guehi.
The second half was an Olise Show, as the Palace man put in a sensational performance to inspire his team to victory. Olise’s excellent cross was headed in by Jordan Ayew for Palace’s second, before the young midfielder played a sublime through-ball that was converted by Eberechi Eze.
Yet, Olise was not done. He continued by setting up Odsonne Edouard for a fourth goal, before Ayew added his second of the game to complete the rout. The win sees Palace move up to 12th in the table, six points clear of the relegation zone, while Leeds remain in 16th place, just two points above the bottom three.
Palace will now face Southampton in their next match, while Leeds will take on Liverpool on Monday.
