SAN FRANCISCO, August 31, (THEWILL) – Supporters of the Uba brothers – Andy and Chris and Tony Nwoye, the governorship candidate of the PDP in Anambra State backed by the national leadership of the party exchanged blows over the control of the party at the special national convention at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Saturday.
The fight started immediately Chris Uba arrived at the venue with his supporters and was deprived by supporters of Nwoye from seating in the front row slot designated for leaders of the party in the state.
Chris Uba’s supporters insisted that Uba would seat there hence a free for all ensued. Security details at the section allocated to Anambra state were ineffective as they could not quell the chaos.
Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, one of the delegates from the state, ran out of the area for her safety.
It took the intervention of the former national publicity secretary, Chief Oliseh Metu before normalcy was restored.
However, Andy, Chris and Nwoye ended up seating together at the area reserved for leaders of the party.
