BEVERLY HILLS, August 15, (THEWILL) -Nigerian singer and Naira Marley’s new signee, Lawal Opeyemi Raimi, aka Lyta, has been accused of plagiarising a music video by GOT7, a South Korean pop band, with his newly released visuals ‘Hold Me Down’.

K-pop fans took to social media to berate the Nigerian singer, decrying the similarities between Lyta’s new video for the song “Hold Me Down” And “Just Right” by South Korean K-pop boy band GOT7.

A Twitter fan page of GOT7 @GOT7_JYP highlighted the similarity between both videos. “Please take legal action on this. We do not accept plagiarism”, they tweeted, tagging the boy band official Twitter account.

Along with their tweet, the page also shared a video in which both music videos were placed together.

THEWILL recalls that Lyta’s “Hold Me Down” music video was released on Friday through Naira Marley’s YouTube account.

Reacting to the accusation, Marley on his Twitter page enjoined Lyta to apologise.

He wrote: “Lyta they’re dragging ur hair in Asia right now. Lyta’s not the video director mf. #ApologiseLyta.”

However, many Twitter users believe that this development is a publicity stunt by Marley to earn Lyta a foreign fan base.
