April 09, (THEWILL) – Liverpool managed to claw their way back from a two-goal deficit, to draw against Premier League leaders, Arsenal, in an enthralling match at Anfield on Sunday.

The visitors came out strong in the first half, with Martinelli and Jesus scoring one goal each. However, Liverpool rallied in the second half, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino securing the draw in the 87th minute.

The game was marked by tension and a highly charged atmosphere, with both managers acknowledging the importance of the contest. Mikel Arteta likened Anfield to a “jungle,” and Jurgen Klopp urged his team to be “like animals” when out of possession. Although Arsenal silenced the home crowd with their two early goals, Liverpool were able to regroup and mount a comeback that ultimately resulted in a well-deserved point.

The draw leaves Arsenal’s lead at the top of the English Premier League table at just six points, putting the title back into Manchester City’s hands ahead of a highly anticipated match between the two teams later this month.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal will be back in action next week, with Arsenal taking on West Ham on Sunday and Liverpool facing Leeds on Monday.
