The apex socio-cultural organization of the Ijaw ethnic nationality, the Ijaw National Congress, INC has kick-started consultations with Ijaw leaders, youth groups and various associations across 78 Ijaw clans within and outside the Niger Delta with a view to identifying the immediate grievances of those behind the resurgent militancy in the area.
The national delegation of the Ijaw apex body on the task, which comprised members from various Ijaw clans told newsmen in Warri, Delta State that the consultations are in order to proffer all-inclusive solutions to the present wave of hostilities in the region.
Led by the secretary-general of INC, Dr Bello Orubebe, INC Western Zone secretary, Mr Jeff Teiyeibo, assistant secretary INC Lagos, Mr Ebi Benson, the national delegation explained that the body deemed it necessary to embark on the move to allow for peaceful coexistence among various ethnic groups in the Nigerian nation.
