March 14, (THEWILL) – Manchester United’s young winger, Alejandro Garnacho, will be out of play for several upcoming matches following the injury he sustained during Sunday’s game against Southampton.
Garnacho has also had to pull out of the Argentina squad for this month’s international games as a result. He was seen walking with crutches and wearing a protective boot after leaving the pitch in stoppage time.
The winger announced his absence from the upcoming games through social media. THEWILL recalls that the 18 years old was substituted during the second half of the match due to a forceful tackle from Kyle Walker-Peters, the Saints’ full-back.
In the post, Garnacho expressed his disappointment about missing crucial matches for Manchester United during an important part of the season, as well as losing out on the chance to debut for the Argentinian National Team in home friendlies against Panama and Curacao.
He will miss Thursday’s Europa League last 16 second leg against Real Betis and Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham. Despite the setback, Garnacho is looking forward to making a strong recovery and returning to the pitch as soon as possible.
