BEVERLY HILLS, February 16, (THEWILL) – Oyo State’s Governor Seyi Makinde today chaperoned four northern governors on an assessment visit to Shasha Market, the scene of an inter-ethnic clash in Ibadan, the state capital.
The northern delegation landed in Ibadan on Monday night.
Governors Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara and Abubakar Sanni of Niger came in a convoy of heavy security and took a tour of the market to assess the level of damage in the epicentre of the violence and its environs.
The delegation later went into consultations with the local Hausa-Fulani leader and Seriki, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin, after which they called on the Baale of Shasha, appealing to all sides to cease hostilities and forge a more formidable bond for peaceful coexistence.
