SAN FRANCISCO, June 03, (THEWILL) – Three members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Thursday alleged that there were plans being made from an unnamed quarter to take the state Governor, Ayodele Fayose “out of circulation” for being critical of the Federal Government.
They claimed that Fayose was the Governor referred to in a recent newspaper report that allegedly claimed that two governors were under surveillance and could be barred from embarking on overseas travels.
Three members of the House led by the Deputy Speaker, Segun Adewunmi, disclosed this at a briefing with select reporters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, threatening to cause what they termed “international stalemate” to embarrass Nigeria among the comity of nations should their suspicion come true.
They said they will react in a manner that would prove to the whole world that “we are not fools”, adding that “we would not accept the plan to muscle the governor or do anything that would tamper with his authority and immunity as a sitting governor”.
Aside the Deputy Speaker, the other two state lawmakers at the briefing were Chairman, House Committee on Information, Gboyega Aribisogan and Samuel Omotosho.
