March 21, (THEWILL) – Crystal Palace have announced the reappointment of Roy Hodgson, as their manager until the end of the season.

THEWILL recalls that Hodgson previously managed the club from 2017 to 2021 and is taking over from Patrick Vieira, who was dismissed last week. Despite Palace’s poor form, with no wins in 2023 and sitting 12th in the English Premier League, Hodgson expressed his delight at returning to the club.

In a statement, Hodgson said: “It is a privilege to be asked to return to the club, which has always meant so much to me, and to be given the important task of turning the team’s fortunes around.”

Palace’s main priority is to start winning matches and secure their Premier League status. Hodgson is confident that with the fighting spirit of the club’s supporters, they can turn things around, starting with their game against Leicester City next week. Hodgson’s previous stint at Palace saw him lead the team to safety and secure their position in the EPL.

The club’s chairman, Steve Parish, expressed his confidence in Hodgson’s ability to achieve the same result this season. Even though Hodgson’s appointment has been met with mixed reactions from Palace fans, many are hopeful that his experience and knowledge of the club will be the key to their staying in the top flight.
