February 08, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting between Buhari and Emefiele came a few hours after the Supreme Court restrained the Federal Government from implementing the February 10 deadline for the old 200, 500 and 1000 naira notes to cease being legal tenders.

While details of the meeting are sketchy, the visit by the apex bank chief may not be unconnected to the ruling of the Supreme Court.
