2023: Wike Promises To Tackle Insecurity In Six Months If Elected

April 22, (THEWILL) – Presidential Aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has vowed to end insecurity in six months if elected President of Nigeria.

Wike, who said this at the Taraba state Exco Chambers while addressing delegates in Jalingo, also said that he will establish State Police as part of his moves to tackle insecurity.

“What Nigerians need is a dogged and fearless leader, that has the capacity to tackle insecurity, banditry, kidnapping and hunger facing the nation.

“I don’t believe that a bomb blast in a train station or anywhere killing innocent people is the will of God, Satan is working tirelessly, and he has agents working for him and these agents are the APC”, he said.

The Presidential aspirant applauded Governor Darius Ishaku for his efforts in ensuring development in the state, especially the construction of the dual carriage road with flyover and pedestrian bridges.

In his response, Governor Darius Ishaku, said Gov Nyesom Wike is a loyal party man and a committed stakeholder of the party since 1998, stating that the Presidential aspirant has never defected from the party at any point.

Ishaku emphasised that the quality leadership and development Nigerians need, can only be provided by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He also agreed with Gov Wike that State police will surmount insecurity challenges facing the nation.

Speaking earlier, Director General of the Nyesom Wike Presidential Campaign Organisation, former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, thanked Governor Ishaku for according the team a warmth welcome, while stating that their visit to the State is part of their moves to canvass for votes from Taraba State delegates.

Dankwambo explained that Wike is a tested and trusted politician, who has served in different capacities including his current position, Governor of Rivers State.

Gov Wike also paid a visit to the victims of the Iware Bomb blast, who are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center Jalingo.

THEWILL reports that the visit was graced by PDP Senators from Rivers State, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, and other eminent stakeholders.
